Terms of Service.
The terms on which you may use WhatMSP — the independent UK register that scores and compares managed service providers. Please read them carefully; by using the service you agree to them.
Last updated: 25 June 2026
WhatMSP (“the service”, “we”, “us”) is an independently operated UK service — not owned by, or operated on behalf of, any provider listed on the register. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the website at whatmsp.co.uk and the register it hosts. A registered company will be named here once formed.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing the register, submitting an enquiry, or claiming or managing a listing, you agree to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Definitions
- Buyer — a business or individual using the register to find, compare or contact an IT provider.
- Provider or MSP — a managed service provider listed, or applying to be listed, on the register.
- Listing — the profile representing a provider on the register.
- Vetting — our independent assessment of a provider against verifiable evidence.
- Score — the figure (out of 50) and tier we assign to a provider based on that assessment.
3. The register is informational and independent
WhatMSP is an independent register provided for information purposes. We are not a party to any contract you may enter into with a provider, and we do not provide IT, managed or security services ourselves.
We do not sell rankings. Scores and tiers are earned from an assessment of verifiable evidence and public records; no payment of any kind can raise a score, change a tier or reorder the ranked results. You can read exactly how scoring works on our how we rate page and how we fund the platform on how we make money.
A score is an assessment at a point in time. It is not a warranty, guarantee or endorsement of any provider, nor a promise about the quality or outcome of their work. Buyers remain responsible for carrying out their own due diligence before engaging a provider.
4. Terms for buyers
- The register is free for buyers to search, compare and use.
- When you submit an enquiry, we pass the relevant details to the provider(s) concerned so they can respond. We do not guarantee that any provider will reply, or reply within any particular time.
- Any agreement you reach with a provider is solely between you and that provider. We are not responsible for the services, conduct, pricing or contracts of any provider.
- You agree to provide accurate information in your enquiries and not to misuse the service.
5. Terms for providers
Accuracy of information
If you submit, claim or manage a listing, you confirm that the information and evidence you provide is accurate, current and not misleading, and that you are authorised to submit it. You must keep your listing details up to date and tell us promptly if anything material changes (for example, if a certification lapses).
Claiming a listing
To claim a listing you must verify that you represent the provider in question. We may ask for evidence to confirm this and may refuse or revoke a claim where we are not satisfied it is genuine.
Self-certified vs verified scores
A listing may show a self-certified score based on information the provider has declared, or a verified score where we have independently checked the evidence against issuing bodies and public records. We distinguish between the two, and we may adjust or withdraw a score if evidence is found to be inaccurate, out of date or unverifiable.
Pricing
Getting listed and vetted is free for the first year from launch. After that, certain provider features may become chargeable. We will give reasonable notice of any charges, and paying for the audit or for premium features never buys a better score or a higher ranking.
Acceptable use
You must not submit false, misleading or fraudulent information; impersonate another business; attempt to manipulate scores or reviews; upload unlawful or infringing material; or use the service in any way that interferes with its operation or security.
Removal and suspension
We reserve the right to edit, suspend or remove any listing, and to suspend or close any account, at our discretion — including where these terms are breached, where information cannot be verified, or where we consider it necessary to protect buyers or the integrity of the register.
Badge usage
Where we issue an embeddable verification badge, it may only be displayed by the provider it was issued to, must be shown unaltered, and must link back to the corresponding verification page on WhatMSP. You must not display a badge for a tier or score you have not been awarded, and you must remove any badge promptly if your listing is suspended or removed or your score changes.
6. Intellectual property
The WhatMSP name, branding, scoring methodology, badges, page content, design and software are owned by or licensed to WhatMSP and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, republish or create derivative works from the register or its content without our prior written permission, except for the limited badge use described above. Where you submit content (such as listing text or logos), you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating the register.
7. No warranties
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to keep the register accurate and available, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information (including scores, credentials and third-party data) is complete or current at all times. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhatMSP will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service or your dealings with any provider or buyer found through it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Indemnity
If you are a provider, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WhatMSP against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from information or evidence you submit, from your misuse of the service or a badge, or from your breach of these terms.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected], or via our contact page.
These terms are provided in good faith as a general template and are not legal advice; the operator should have them reviewed by a solicitor before relying on them.
